By now we’ve usually got about a square metre of frog spawn in our pond, the product of somewhere between 70 and 100 frogs. This year I’ve only counted around 12 individuals at any one time. There are about 10 clumps of spawn, the latest one arriving this morning, close to the individual above. Interestingly there was no sign of the frogs during the February heatwave and they’ve only become active during the past week or so. What have others seen in the way of frog activity?
